Richard Hubmer, Sr., 23 year old father of a 15 month old boy, was convicted by a jury of manslaughter in the child's death. The child died at their home near Leesville, Louisiana, on December 26 or 27, 1987. The trial judge sentenced the defendant to imprisonment at hard labor for 12 years.
