DOOLEY, Justice.

Following a jury trial in Chittenden District Court, defendant was convicted of embezzlement, in violation of 13 V.S.A. § 2531. Defendant appeals the conviction, contending that the trial court made several reversible errors. Our review of the proceeding below reveals fundamental error so serious that the conviction must be reversed and vacated.
