The appellant was charged with second offense DWI and was tried, convicted, and sentenced on June 9, 1988. He gave notice of appeal on the same date. The record was not lodged in the circuit court until September 7, 1988. On November 18, 1988, the circuit court dismissed the appeal on the ground that it was not timely.
