Appellant Sammie Lee Casey (defendant) was convicted of first-degree assault in violation of § 565.050, RSMo 1978. The cause was tried to the court without the aid of a jury and the defendant was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 15 years to be served consecutively to a previously imposed sentence.
