Plaintiff James Kimbrough, a black man, was employed by defendant Bowman Transportation Company ("Bowman"), a trucking company, from 1976 until the time of his discharge. He claims that he was discharged by Bowman because of his race, in violation of 42 U.S.C. § 1981.
