Plaintiff Opal Neighbors Dimitry brought this federal tort action against the United States of America for the alleged wrongful death of her husband, Mitchell James Dimitry, while he was a patient at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana ("VA"). The district court dismissed the suit on the ground that the plaintiff had failed to prove that the negligence of the VA employees was the cause in fact of the decedent...
