John Russell Lee was convicted of manufacturing a controlled substance and sentenced to 40 years imprisonment and a $75,000 fine.

Lee, a former Drew County resident, returned to Arkansas after living in California. He and his stepson, Allan Pavatt, spent the night of July 2, 1986 alone at Lee's sister's house in Collins, Arkansas.
