On January 10, 1987, the defendant, Terry Woods, a/k/a/ Alphonse Desmond, was charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, a violation of LSA R.S. 14:95.1. On May 6, 1987 he was found guilty as charged at a judge trial. He was sentenced to serve ten years at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
