The United States of America owns a gaseous diffusion plant at Paducah, Kentucky. Martin Marietta Energy System, Inc. (MMES) operates the plant for the government under a contract with the Department of Energy (DOE). MMES contracted with American District Telegraph Company (ADT) to install a fire alarm system at the plant. ADT then subcontracted the work to Riley Electric Company (Riley).
