OPINION OF THE COURT

WEIS, Circuit Judge.

In this appeal defendant contends that the Sentencing Guidelines promulgated by the United States Sentencing Commission apply to offenses under the Virgin Islands Code tried in the District Court of the Virgin Islands. Finding no indication in the federal statutes that the Guidelines are applicable to a local offense, we agree with the District Court that they do not govern the sentence imposed on defendant.
