Defendant, Larry Simpson, was charged with aggravated battery, home invasion, residential burglary and armed robbery in connection with his taking money from 88-year-old George Doucette in his home on August 29, 1987. After a jury trial, defendant was found guilty of all charges and sentenced by the Will County circuit court to serve concurrent extended terms of 40 years each for his convictions...
