Defendant-appellant, Frederic ("Fred") Jurek, was indicted for two counts of bribery, R.C. 2921.02, and two counts of obstruction of justice, R.C. 2921.32. After trial in the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, a jury returned guilty verdicts on all four counts.
