A jury convicted defendant Clarence Darrell Smith of one count of stealing a motor vehicle, in violation of § 570.030.3(3)(a) R.S. Mo., 1986, one count of burglary in the second degree, in violation of § 569.170 R.S.Mo., 1986, and two counts of arson, in violation of § 569.050 R.S.Mo., 1986. The court sentenced defendant as a persistent offender to consecutive prison terms. He now contends that the trial court erred in overruling his motion...
