The petitioner Julius Edward Spivey was convicted of two counts of theft of property and sentenced as a habitual offender to twenty-five years imprisonment on each count. He then petitioned the trial court for reduction of sentence under Ark.Stat. Ann. § 43-2314 (Supp.1985), now codified at Ark.Code Ann. § 16-90-111 (Supp.1987).
