Defendant, Allan Wayne Hindman, was convicted of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol (second offense) in violation of Iowa Code section 321J.2(1)(a), (b) (1987). He has appealed. His contentions on appeal are: (1) that he did not knowingly and intelligently waive his right to counsel under the sixth amendment to the federal constitution; and (2) that, in any event, the district court should have appointed counsel to represent...
