In three misdemeanor prosecutions initiated by separate informations, the State charged that Wesley William Welton unlawfully carried a weapon, drove an automobile while intoxicated, and possessed a controlled substance. Welton moved in each case, before trial, to suppress evidence discovered by a police officer in his warrantless roadside search of an automobile driven by Welton, ostensibly authorized by Welton's contemporaneous arrest for driving...
