Following a five-day jury trial,1 appellant Thomas Lionel Iron Moccasin was convicted of three counts in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 1153 and 2242 (sexual abuse) and one count in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 1153 and 2244 (abusive sexual conduct).2 The offenses occurred on the Cheyenne River Sioux Indian Reservation of Eagle Butte, South Dakota.
