In 1985 the Iowa legislature amended Iowa Code section 524.910, which pertains to agricultural land acquired by a state bank in satisfaction of a debt previously contracted. According to the amendment, before the bank may sell such land, it must first offer the prior owner an opportunity to repurchase the land on the terms the bank proposes to sell it.
