Defendant was apprehended on June 25, 1987 by State Trooper Thomas Wolf while taking an electric guitar out of Wolf's home. Defendant claimed that an unidentified friend permitted him to enter the house. Wolf subsequently observed defendant attempting to secrete a mint coin set belonging to Wolf's brother under the front seat of a car where defendant was being restrained.
