The Stegalls own and operate a farm that went belly-up during the recent midwestern farm troubles. In 1985 they filed a petition for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code. Their filing disclosed $650,000 in liabilities and only $208,000 in assets. They proposed a plan of reorganization under which they would retain the farm, would continue paying interest to their secured creditors, and would pay their unsecured creditors a...
