The plaintiff, Patricia Small, brought suit against the defendant, South Norwalk Savings Bank, to recover for damages arising out of her purchase of a home that, unknown to her, was in a special flood hazard area. The plaintiff's amended complaint alleged in the first count, sounding in tort, that: (1) she contracted to purchase property in Fairfield conditioned on satisfactory mortgage financing and that the defendant bank provided $52,000 first mortgage...
