In this declaratory judgment action, plaintiff Gail Altena asked the district court to construe two insurance policies of defendant Senard Altena to cover damages caused by his alleged sexual abuse of her. Senard's insurer, the United Fire and Casualty Company (UFC), filed a motion for summary judgment, contending that damages from Senard's acts came within an exclusion from coverage of injuries intended by the insured.
