James Gilliard appeals his conviction under 18 U.S.C. § 922(g) for unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Pursuant to the recidivist provisions of 18 U.S.C. § 924(e), Gilliard was sentenced to fifteen years imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
