McDERMOTT, Justice.

This appeal comes directly from the judgment of sentence imposed by the Court of Common Pleas of Lackawanna County.1 Sentence of death was imposed after denial of appellant's post-verdict motions which were filed in response to a jury verdict of guilt on charges of first degree murder and robbery.
