On July 14, 1987, defendants, Charles L. Young and Thelma Young, both 50 years of age, were charged by bill of information, along with Salvador Chapino and Anastacio Guireiro, with production of marijuana, a violation of La.R.S. 40:966(A)(1).1 On September 15, 1987, a twelve person jury found defendants guilty as charged.
