The defendant, Philip Franklin was charged by bill of information with Armed Robbery in violation of R.S. 14:64. The defendant went to trial on January 6-7, 1986, and a twelve person jury found him guilty as charged. On May 9, 1986, he was adjudicated a third offender and sentenced to one hundred ninety-eight years at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
