The defendant, Richard O. Gooden, was charged by bill of information with possession of marijuana in excess of 100 pounds but less than 2,000 pounds, a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:966 E(1). The defendant entered a guilty plea to possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:966 A(1). The defendant was sentenced to serve nine years at hard labor and ordered to pay a fine of $15,000 or serve an additional one year...
