Appellant Hunt was convicted by a jury in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City of the first degree murder of a police officer and sentenced to death. He was also convicted of (1) using a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence and (2) unlawfully wearing, carrying, or transporting a handgun, for which he received consecutive sentences, respectively, of twenty and three years' imprisonment.
