Timothy Ray Becker, whose estate is the plaintiff in this action, purchased a health insurance policy from the defendant, Central States Health and Life Company of Omaha. After Timothy sought medical treatment for an illness that ultimately claimed his life, Central States denied coverage on the grounds that the illness was a preexisting condition.
