Plaintiff, Dr. Clara C. Chen, commenced this action to recover damages for injuries sustained as a consequence of an accident in Thailand on October 26, 1985. Defendant Georgetown University ("Georgetown") removed the case to federal court on the basis of diversity pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1441 (1982).
