UPON A PETITION FOR REHEARING
On consideration of the petition of the appellants, a rehearing is granted of the judgment rendered herein April 22, 1988.
On further consideration whereof, the Court concludes that it could not properly consider the appellee's assignment of cross-error because such cross-error was not assigned in a brief in opposition. Accordingly, that portion of the Court's opinion, rendered April 22, 1988, 235 Va. 360,
