The defendant was tried upon proper indictments for first degree sexual offense and first degree rape. The jury found the defendant guilty of both offenses as charged, and the trial court entered separate judgments sentencing the defendant to concurrent sentences of life imprisonment. Upon the defendant's appeal of right to the Supreme Court from both judgments, the trial court determined that he was an indigent and appointed the Appellate Defender...
