The appellants ("plaintiffs"), survivors and representatives of the seamen who were injured or killed when their semi-submersible drilling rig capsized in the North Sea, brought suit against Phillips Petroleum Company Norway ("Phillips Norway"), claiming relief under American federal law and foreign law. The Superior Court granted Phillips Norway's motion for summary judgment and dismissed the complaint...
