On April 9, 1986, the trial court granted the parties a divorce. The parties had been married for twenty-eight years. The court essentially divided the marital property equally between the parties. On appeal, defendant challenges the court's division of plaintiff's vested contributory pension from Ford Motor Company, where plaintiff has worked since 1957.
