These consolidated actions arise out of the refusal of North American Life & Casualty Company ("North American") to pay $58,000 in life insurance to plaintiff Penelope Stillman upon the death of her husband Donald Stillman. Civil No. 87-479-D was brought originally in New Hampshire state court and subsequently was properly removed to this court. Jurisdiction over the action is thus proper pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1441....
