The issue before us concerns the nature of an appeal from the District Court to a circuit court in a direct criminal contempt case.

The District Court of Maryland, sitting in Baltimore City, found Altian Harper to be in direct criminal contempt of the court and sentenced Mr. Harper to ninety days imprisonment.
