On August 25, 1981, Theresa M. Lajeunesse, almost sixteen, and Peter Gage, eighteen, were struck and killed by a Consolidated Rail Corporation (Conrail) freight train. A diagram indicating the area within the city of Westfield (Westfield) where the accident happened appears at the end of this opinion. Actions for wrongful death and conscious pain and suffering were brought by the administrators of the decedents...
