Appellant Jerry Jerome Benton was convicted of murder in violation of § 13A-6-2, Code of Alabama 1975. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison and financial punishments.

The evidence tended to show that 16-year-old Lisa Stanley, the victim in this case, and Jerry Benton regularly dated, although when they met she was pregnant by another man. Her baby died soon after birth and Lisa told Jerry it had died...
