The plaintiff brought this action alleging both slander and libel. The trial court granted the defendant's motion to strike the one count complaint "to the extent that [it] purports to allege a cause of action sounding in slander"1 and rendered a partial judgment in favor of the defendant "as to the allegations of slander in the complaint."2 The sole issue is
