The defendant was found guilty by a jury on an indictment that charged him with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon. On appeal, he argues that (1) the judge committed prejudicial error when he failed to conduct a colloquy with the defendant before examining prospective jurors on the subject of possible racial prejudice, and (2) the prosecutor made prejudicial remarks in his closing argument...
