1. The plaintiff Julianne Grassis was born with a double ureter or double collecting system in her urinary tract. This malformation exposed her to infections as bacteria in her urine tended by "reflux" action to pass into the kidneys. The child early began to suffer such infections accompanied by fever. When she was about two and one-half years old, in January, 1980, showing extreme temperature, she was admitted on advice of her pediatrician to Lawrence...
