Defendant, Robert Klovstad, was sentenced to a one-year term of probation after entering a plea of guilty to the offense of driving while under the influence of alcohol (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1983, ch. 95 1/2, par. 11-501(a)). Defendant's probation was revoked on April 15, 1986, during an in absentia proceeding at which neither defendant nor his attorney was present.
