The Whitney Museum of American Art, located at 945 Madison Avenue in Manhattan, is a not-for-profit corporation organized for charitable and educational purposes. The museum owns five adjacent brownstone buildings which presently contain 10 rent-controlled and 2 rent-stabilized apartments. There are also four commercial tenants in the subject buildings. Two of those tenants have long-term commercial leases expiring in 1992 and 1994...
