In State v. Thompson, 427 N.W.2d 266 (Minn.App.1988), the court of appeals affirmed the felony theft conviction of defendant, Roger Arthur Thompson. We granted the defendant's petition for review not because we disagree with the ultimate decision of the court of appeals but in order to expand upon the court of appeals' analysis of two of the issues.
