As provided by Civil Code section 3144.5,1 the statute of limitations for an action on a mechanic's lien release bond is six months from the recording of the bond. (1a) We granted review in this case to determine how this statute of limitations affects a mechanic's lien foreclosure action commenced before the recording of the release bond.
