The defendants, Henry Lee McCollum and Leon Brown, were tried upon separate bills of indictment charging each of them with the first degree murder and first degree rape of Sabrina Buie. They were tried jointly during the 8 October 1984 Criminal Session of Superior Court for Robeson County. The jury returned verdicts finding each defendant guilty of both crimes as charged.
