The plaintiff (Mendez) is a former employee of the defendant M.S. Walker, Inc., a distributor of alcoholic beverages. After being fired for theft, Mendez recovered a judgment for defamation against his former employer. M.S. Walker, Inc., has appealed, raising the principal contention that the jury's verdicts were inconsistent and should have been set aside for that reason.
