The 25-year-old decedent, Scott Parker, was killed during a robbery which occurred in a parking lot owned by defendant D/U Third Realty Company and managed by defendant Split-Rock Realty Company, Inc. The crime was committed on August 30, 1983 after Diana Ortiz, a prostitute, and three male accomplices agreed that Ortiz would bring a "john" to defendants' parking lot so that the men could rob him.
