The defendant was charged in a substitute information with one count of risk of injury to a child in violation of General Statutes § 53-211 and one count of assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-59. Both counts arose out of the same incident that allegedly occurred on February 11, 1985, in Waterbury. The charges were tried to the court and the defendant was found not guilty of assault...
