JURISDICTION

The offenses involved in this case relate to a "chop shop" operated in Tucson in late 1983 and early 1984. Testimony at trial explained that a "chop shop" is an operation in which vehicles are stolen and dismantled into salable component parts. After trial to a jury, defendant Aaron Scott Sammons was found guilty and sentenced on three counts of theft of property valued over $1,000, one count of attempted theft of property valued...
